Those of us who like to watch travel shows on TV between our actual trips are well aware that the Globe Trekker series has been a leader in the field of budget and adventure travel for many years. They started as Lonely Planet in 1994, but switched to Globe Trekker or Pilot Guides a few years ago, even though the crew is the same and guides Ian Wright, Justine Shapiro, and Megan McCormick are still involved.
The good news is that the episodes are now available for online viewing through the new GlobetrekkerChannel, which also includes Planet Food and a few shows as well. The list of episodes already available is long and will continue to grow as time goes on. In addition to the episodes you can also download mp3s of the theme music and even recipes from Planet Food.
Check out the details on the GlobetrekkerChannel. There are some interviews with the hosts that are free to watch if you want to give the thing a try, and more content is being added all the time.
To get started you need to register on the GlobetrekkerChannel site so you’ll be made aware of the different new videos that have been added. Then you buy credits and you can begin watching the videos of your choice, and you get unlimited viewing for up to a week.
