I’m not typically one who makes last-minute overseas trips, but somehow the stars aligned a little over two weeks ago and I booked a ticket for Italy. I leave on Tuesday the 19th of May, and will be in the country for a month.
A blogger friend in Milan is going to be visiting family in the U.S. for a couple of months, and she’s graciously allowing me to stay in her apartment in the city center while I’m in Italy. So I’ll be based in Milan – a city I know and love, a city where I already have friends I’m looking forward to seeing again, and a city where more new friends await me. I’m not sure yet where I’ll be traveling, although I’m scheming to hit Rome and Naples at some point, and I also hope to make a few day-trips into points closer to Milan as time allows.
I’ll try to get posts up on the site relatively regularly, but I’m posting this note to tell you that I can’t promise things will go up as regularly as they have been! I will have internet access, and I’ll likely be posting more bloggy-type stuff about my day-to-day experiences in among the travel tips and such. But even if you don’t see a new post from me every few days, rest assured I’m still here, I’m just on – let’s call it a reconnaissance mission.
My plan is to collect oodles of information, photos, video, etc. – and bring it all back to share with you. (That picture at the top will be pretty much what I look like most of the month, I’m sure.) Feel free to leave your questions for me here, or you can email me, and I’ll do my best to find the answers for you – whether I’m in Italy or not. And if you’re on Twitter and you’re not already following me, that’s probably the best way to keep up with me while I’m traveling. Not on Twitter but want to get the latest on what I’m up to anyway? You can become a fan of WhyGo Italy on Facebook – my Twitter updates (as well as posts on the website) feed onto the page, too.
Anyway, I look forward to gathering all kinds of Italy goodies for you and returning even more enthusiastic about traveling in Italy. Wait, is that possible? Hmm… I guess we’ll find out.
