O Leão de Porches, Algarve
Those lazy languid days of summer are conducive to slow, romantic meals, while watching the sun dip below the horizon. Windsurf is a simple restaurant set right on the huge expanse of Alvor beach that offers not only delicious and fresh food with friendly, unhurried service, it offers the rare opportunity to really appreciate the moment – there are no TVs here, no wi-fi and the background music is provided by the waves crashing on the beach.
NosoloÁgua Beach Club and Restaurant overlooks the Praia da Rocha marina and beach. It is beautiful, indulgent, chic and trendy , sand-between-your-toes luxury. Lounge on a private daybed for two while sipping champagne, nibble some sushi and enjoy the views.
Keeping west and by the sea, Restaurant Mirandus, near Lagos, is a romantic’s haven. Set within the Vivenda Miranda boutique hotel, itself no slouch in the romance department, Mirandus marries fresh, delicious Mediterranean cuisine and those amazing views of the endless Atlantic horizon. Add the occasional extra of dolphins frolicking offshore and you have all the ingredients for a romantic evening to remember.
