Many tourists to Chicago ask about hotels near the O’Hare airport. And many have good reasons to stay there; if you’re coming for a conference that takes place near the airport, or if you have an extremely early flight out the next morning, then staying at the airport makes sense. But if you plan to spend most of your time downtown, staying at the airport is not recommended.
O’Hare is conveniently connected to downtown Chicago by the Blue Line, but takes about 40 minutes to travel between the two, and on a short trip, the savings of staying at the airport probably won’t offset the time spent in transit.
And don’t even think about driving into the city from your airport hotel each day as in addition to suffering through traffic, you’ll also need to pay hefty parking fees.
Still, if your travel plans call for staying close to the O’Hare airport, here are some recommended hotels.
The Crowne Plaza O’Hare
Located 1.5 miles from the airport at the Rosemont el stop, the Crowne Plaza offers a complimentary 24-hour shuttle to O’Hare. There is an onsite fitness center, business center, pool, and restaurant.
Hilton Chicago O’Hare
Located inside Terminal 2, the Hilton is about as close as you can get to your early morning flight without sleeping on an airport bench. The hotel offers several restaurants and easy access to the Blue Line for trips downtown.
Aloft O’Hare
The trendy Aloft hotel at O’Hare offers a bar, gym, pool, 2000 square foot patio, and complimentary airport shuttle. The hotel is located close to the Convention Center, a very short cab ride from the Rosemont Blue Line stop.
Chicago Marriott O’Hare
The Chicago Marriott O’Hare offers all the quality and amenities you expect from a Marriott, and offers a free scheduled airport shuttle.
