Plan a Family Trip to Chicago

Chicago is an ideal destination for families. From the Lincoln Park Zoo to the fantastical theatre productions, there are plenty of activities for families to enjoy, and many are completely free.

Families traveling with children who are younger can take a carriage ride down Michigan Avenue, shop for dolls at American Girl Place (or go straight for the candy at the Hershey store), pet the animals at the zoo, and visit the Children’s Museum at Navy Pier.

Those visiting Chicago with older kids will also find plenty to occupy the kids, like going out on “the Ledge” at the Willis Tower, biking along the Lakefront, seeing a play, checking out dinosaur fossils at the Field Museum or going down in a mineshaft at the Museum of Science and Industry.

And while Chicago has plenty of high-class romantic restaurants, it’s also easy to find inexpensive options sure to please the kids. This is the home of deep-dish pizza and Chicago-style hot dogs after all!
