The Hawaiian archipelago was formed by volcanic activity over the last several million years, and the islands continue to grow as lava pours from the world’s most active volcano, Mount Kilauea, on the Big Island. Owing much of its spectacular beauty to lava, erosion, and volcanic eruptions, it is no wonder that many visitors to Hawaii want to catch a glimpse at the force that created the islands they are now vacationing on.
