Hawaii Shark Encounters Tour – “Truly the Finest Hawaii Shark Adventure Ever!”, visitors have the opportunity to encounter Galapagos and Sandbar sharks. Protected by a shark cage, guests have the opportunity to get face to face with the sharks.
The water near Waikiki is very clear, allowing visitors a spectacular view of the sharks. Tours go out in the mornings and early afternoons, when the weather is less likely to be a problem – this allows the water to stay calmer for a more pleasant tour. The tour is not recommended for those under five years old.
What To Expect
The tour lasts two hours, including fifteen minutes to and from the site location. Guests are provided with snorkels and masks, but wetsuits are not provided. Guests can bring their own snorkeling equipment if they would like. If you get seasick, take something ahead of time. The tour is on a continually rocking boat.
Hours of Operation
Tour check-ins are at 6:30am, 8:30am, 10:30am, and 12:30pm, weather permitting. You must reserve a spot on the tour ahead of time.

How To Get There
From Kailua, take H-3 to H-1.
From Honolulu: take H1 West to H2 North. H2 become Rt. 99, and then turn right at the North Shore sign after going through four lights. After turning at North Shore, stay on Rt. 99 until you can turn left to go to Haleiwa Town. Turn left after 76 gas station on left. (If you pass under a narrow bridge, you have gone too far.) On right is Haleiwa Boat Harbor. Turn right at sign into harbor. Stay right and follow road until you reach the two-story building in the middle of the harbor. Park next to the sign.
From Turtle Bay: go North on 83 to the North Shore / Haleiwa town. Go to traffic signal pointing you to the ‘Historic’ Haleiwa town. Turn right, follow road over bridge. Turn right immediately after you pass Haleiwa Joe’s Restaurant and before the 76 gas station. Turn right at the sign for entering Haleiwa Boat harbor. Stay right and follow road until you see a large two-story building in the middle of the harbor. Park next to the sign.
