If you’re looking for the ultimate Spring Break destination—a place where you can party all night and relax all day—look no further than Las Vegas. Sin City is the ultimate playground for adults, and if your vision of the ideal Spring Break includes drinking, dancing and hanging around with other beautiful, young people, then it really doesn’t get any better than this.
Though anyone is welcome in Las Vegas, to truly take advantage of all the city has to offer it’s best to visit when you’ve hit the legal drinking age of 21. Only then will you be admitted onto the casino floors and into the nightclubs, pool parties and strip clubs.
Spring Break is a two-month party in Las Vegas, when college students from everywhere descend upon Sin City throughout the months of March and April. Look for a cheap flight to Las Vegas as soon as you know you’d like to book a trip and then make hotel reservations. (If you’re on a budget, check out these less expensive hotels.) Keep in mind that there is a surge in visitation during Spring Break, so you may pay a slightly inflated price for accommodations.
During the day, it’s common to find most college students hanging out at one of the many pools in Las Vegas. Pools are large with plenty of space to spread out, though you’re welcome to rent a cabana if that’s more your style. DJs frequently spin poolside, and many pool clubs have contests and themed events.
At night, the nightclubs come alive with celebrity guests and even more contests replete with thousands of dollars in prize money. Lines can be long at the clubs; do what you can to get to the front of the line faster so you don’t spend your entire Spring Break wondering what’s going inside while you wait outside.
If your idea of Spring Break isn’t steeped in partying, Las Vegas may still be a good destination for you to consider. There are plenty of things to do in the city that don’t involve late nights and copious amounts of alcohol. The Las Vegas Strip has a number of attractions as does the downtown area. During the day, take advantage of the ideal weather conditions with outdoor exploration in the areas surrounding Las Vegas. At night, enjoy the dining scene then snap up tickets to one of the many Las Vegas shows.
When you visit Las Vegas for Spring Break, it is important to keep some basic safety tips in mind. If you are tipping back drinks, make sure you make a conscious effort to drink plenty of water as well. Even though it isn’t the peak of summer yet, you should definitely consider slathering on some sunscreen. At night, keep an eye on your drink, and always let someone know where you’re going if you decide to leave with a stranger.
So what are you waiting for? Pack your favorite bathing suit and gather your closest friends. It’s time to make your Spring Break one to remember … in Vegas, baby!
