Noted for its reflective gold coloring that glimmers on the Las Vegas Strip, Wynn Las Vegas is, in many ways, as majestic and dramatic as it appears from the outside. Home to award-winning restaurants, well-regarded gaming, luxurious rooms and hot nightlife opportunities, Wynn is considered one of the finest resorts in Las Vegas.
Steve Wynn owns both the Wynn and its sister property, Encore. Guests at either resort are welcome to utilize the amenities and features at both. Though Wynn by itself is not one of the largest Las Vegas hotels, the two properties together are certainly eye-catching and worth a visit on your Las Vegas vacation.
Opened on April 28, 2005, Wynn Las Vegas is the star property owned by Steve Wynn, a Las Vegas hospitality icon. The resort opened five years after Wynn bought the site. This was also the 55th anniversary of the opening of the original Desert Inn, which he also purchased, along with its golf course.
The resort is known for its impressive selection of award-winning restaurants, which are under the guidance of celebrity and masterfully trained chefs. Fine dining options offer a range of international cuisine, but there are also several casual and more relaxed dining options as well. Whatever your dining preferences are, chances are you can find something that suits your palate.
Wynn Las Vegas is home to two nightclubs, both of which attract popular DJs and A-list celebrities. Lines for both nightclubs frequently wind down the corridors, so table reservations or VIP service is recommended, especially for holidays and special events.
Visitors to Wynn Las Vegas will find one permanent show on site. Le Rêve is an aquatic-based acrobatic spectacle that rivals many of the Cirque du Soleil shows on the Las Vegas Strip. If that doesn’t do it for you, pop over to Encore to check out Garth Brooks or one of the many traveling performers that may be booked in the Encore Theater.
A spacious spa, salon and fitness center complex offers plenty of ways to work off some sweat and relax in anticipation of another long night. Two pools are open year-round at Wynn Las Vegas for those who would like to take a dip outside. Wynn Las Vegas is also one of only a couple of resorts that offers a golf course within close proximity of its property. The 18-hole course is open to both guests and non-guests, and reservations are recommended.
Though it doesn’t have an excessive shopping area, there are a number of high-end retailers as well as a Ferrari / Maserati dealership in Wynn Las Vegas.
Wynn Las Vegas is one of the finer hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, as reflected in its service, amenities, decor and price. This makes it a hub for high-end travelers, high rollers and those who would like to splurge on a Las Vegas vacation. It is also ideal for foodies and those planning a romantic getaway.
Families will likely find there isn’t much to keep kids entertained, and those on a budget will struggle to keep their finances in check. That said, nearly everyone will find something of interest if they spend just a few hours walking through the resort.
