You have lots of choices when it comes to dining in Las Vegas, so how to choose? Do you look exclusively for good food, or are you also concerned about ambiance? If you want both, look no further than Simon.
Consistently ranked as one of the best places to enjoy Sunday brunch in Las Vegas, Simon in Palms Place offers not only an awesome, relaxed atmosphere but flavorful, fun and memorable food.
Kerry Simon is the head chef and brainchild behind this eclectic dining establishment, and though he spends a good portion of his time in the kitchen, he’s not one to hunker down behind the stove. Patrons at the restaurant often see him out and about, visiting with guests and making sure everything is running smoothly.
Simon is known for its simple dishes with a unique flair. If you’ve heard anything about this restaurant, it is probably about its famous Sunday brunch, which is equal parts filling, healthy and exactly what you need after a late night (or exceedingly early morning) on the Strip. Open from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. every Sunday, Simon’s wait staff greets guests in pajamas, so don’t feel too stressed about dressing up for the occasion. The brunch menu includes an extensive selection of fruit, smoothies, breads, pastries, sushi, sashimi, paninis, omelets, pizza and made-to-order hot breakfast favorites. A bloody mary buffet and bottomless glass of champagne are available for an additional fee.
There is no reason to rush your meal. In fact, if you’d like to take a break, step out for fresh air on the outdoor pool deck and enjoy a view of the city, you’re more than welcome to do so.
If you can’t make it to Simon for brunch, it’s worth stopping by any day of the week for breakfast (7:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.), lunch (11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.), sunset dining (2:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m.) or dinner (6:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.) as well. A newly released lunch menu features quick on-the-go dishes that are both convenient for a speedy meal as well as relatively healthy. The dinner menu includes a number of seafood, chicken and beef entrees as well as salads and pizzas. A well-stocked bar tops off any meal.
Regardless of whether you choose Simon for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner, no meal is complete without one of the restaurant’s signature desserts. Kerry is known for his whimsical touch when it comes to the final course, and though you can order standard favorites like cheesecake, blueberry pie and creme brulee, you might please the child inside if you opt instead for the PB&J sandwich made with peanut butter ice cream or the junk food platter, which comes piled high with cotton candy, caramel popcorn, cupcakes, cookies and other fun snacks.
Located in Palms Place, adjacent to Palms Casino Resort, Simon is both unpretentious and classy. The large glass windows make the dining area open and spacious, and there is also a room available for private parties in the back. Extend your stay with a dip in the pool or just relax with your dining partners. This is one restaurant where you can kick back, chill out and still know with certainty that you’re eating some of the finest food in Las Vegas.
