Dining at Luxor Las Vegas tends to be either fine dining or extremely casual, but there is one place that falls right in the middle: T&T. Tacos & Tequila is Luxor’s hip Mexican cantina, which is located on the atrium level of the resort. The space is open to the atrium and located far enough away from the casino floor that you won’t be subjected to the sound of cheers from the poker tables or bells from the slot machines. T&T’s bar is uniquely designed and an interesting conversation piece as you tip back a few drinks.
The restaurant’s vibe is one of traditional Mexican cuisine mixed with a fun and laid back atmosphere. Wait staff is lively and attentive, paying special attention to the quality of the drinks and food. On Wednesdays, a DJ kicks up house music (almost a bit too loud, as the tables end up vibrating to the bass) and drink specials make it easy to party all night long. Couples hit the makeshift dance floor and take advantage of the photo booth set up for mischievous picture taking. Whoever takes the best photo of the night wins a $100 bar tab.
On Saturdays from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., guests can enjoy a mariachi brunch complete with drink specials and live music.
Regardless of when they dine at T&T, guests will find a comprehensive menu stuffed with classic Mexican favorites including enchiladas, burritos, tacos and fajitas. Meals are served quickly, and entree portion sizes are generous with sides of beans and rice. Those with an in-room refrigerator may want to take leftovers to go. Food is a bit pricey though. Expect to pay $13-$18 for standard dishes like tacos and burritos and $18-$25 for anything that comes off the grill. Everything in Las Vegas comes at a price, and at T&T, guests are paying for the atmosphere as well as the food.
No Mexican meal would be complete without a margarita or cocktail to top it off. T&T offers several handcrafted cocktails and nearly a dozen specialty margaritas including spiced apple, strawberry agave and mango ginger. Of course, you can always opt for the standard house margarita as well. Cocktails and margaritas run $12 each while domestic beers are $6 and imported brands are $7.
Kids are welcome in the restaurant, but it has more of an adult vibe to it, especially later at night.
Attire at T&T is casual; come dressed for a fun and relaxed meal. The restaurant is open from 11:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. Reservations are not needed.
