The Imperial Palace Las Vegas offers almost too much to do to be able to experience them all during your stay. The famous Auto Collection, the museum dedicated to Elvis, the pool and the shopping promenade are just some of the things to do there. Of course, there is a spa and a salon, a fitness center and some golf courses near-by in case you want to add some exercise to your vacation.
The Auto Collections
It is the main attraction at the Imperial Palace and a magnet for anyone who loves old cars. It is the world’s largest classic car showroom. The cars on display are valued at over $100 million. There are over 250 cars to see and buy. The showroom is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
At the entrance of the Auto Collections on the fifth level of the self-parking facility there’s a gift shop which features a large selection of books on automobiles, souvenirs and merchandise of the stars whose cars are featured in the collection.
King’s Ransom Museum
Elvis has returned to Las Vegas… in the form of The King’s Ransom Museum which features one-of-a-kind exhibit of Elvis Presley artifacts and memorabilia which were never seen before in the city. The items include Elvis’ 1977 Lincoln Continental, personal clothing items, jewelry, guns, badges and personal artifacts from his Graceland home.
The museum is located in the Imperial Palace’s Royal Halls, on the third floor of the casino. It is open daily and the admission is $10. The exhibit will be open until April 2010.
Shangri-la Pool and Jacuzzi
The outdoor pool and Jacuzzi are an excellent choice for a relaxing day at the Imperial Palace. There’s a complimentary towels poolside and you can also grab food and drinks from the poolside bar.
The pool and Jacuzzi are located at the second floor. The outdoor pool is closed seasonally but the Jacuzzi is open year round. Currently the facilities are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Salon
It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is specialized in bridal make-up, nails and up dos but anyone can use the services offered: manicure, pedicure, cut/style, make up and so on. The salon is located at Imperial Palace on the fourth floor of the Pagoda Tower
Fitness Center
It is open daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. It features equipment such as treadmills, elliptical trainer and free weights. After the workout you can relax in the sauna or Jacuzzi.
The daily fee is $20. It is free to use the fitness center if you have booked a spa treatment. Spa and fitness center guests must be at least 18.
The Spa
The Zen inspired spa offers a relaxing atmosphere, complete with green tea scented showers and very interesting treatments. The facilities (sauna, Jacuzzi, steam room) are open daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the services (facials, massages, etc) are available daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Please book ahead and arrive at the spa 30 minutes before the treatment. A daily pass costs $10. Massages start at $100 (50 minutes, Swedish), facials start at $115 (50 minutes, “Yin” Ladies Facial or “Yang” Gentlemen Facial) and body treatments start at $65 (25 minutes body scrub). Treatment packages are also available, from $150 (Retreat – 25 minutes trouble spot massage, 25 minutes body scrub and 25 minutes Refresher Facial).
Shopping Promenade
It features nine boutiques and shops. You can buy anything you might think of, from clothes, jewelry, shoes to souvenirs and other Las Vegas Memorabilia.
Some of the shops are: 20ENTY – where all jewelry costs $20 -, Bijoux Terner – where you can pick up luxury items, such as women apparel, jewelry, men’s neckties, earnings, etc at just $10 per item -, Fun Gifts, Higuchi – which features resort apparel for both men and women – and Whiskey Run – which is a convenience store where you can pick up anything from sodas and juices to souvenirs and sundries. Most shops are open from 8 a.m. to midnight.
Golf
Harrah’s Entertainment’s guests can use several golf courses located close to the Strip. Casacata Golf is the second golf course in Nevada and one of the top 100 modern courses in the States. Rio Secco Golf is known as the number one golf course in Nevada by Las Vegas PGA and is located just 12 min from the Strip. Butch Harmon School of Golf is a very popular golf school where you can learn to play or polish your skills (both indoor and outdoor). Las Vegas National Golf Club is located just 2 miles from the Strip and is a very affordable place to play.
