We’re mere months away from the grand opening of the newest resort to open on the Strip, Encore at the Wynn Las Vegas, and yet most of the details of the resort design have been kept underwraps. However, we’ve finally been able to get our hands on some interior shots of one of the basic suites.
As you can tell from the photo above, the room decor has a slight masculine feel with the use of the dark wood trim and red accent color, but also makes use of carefully placed lights and mirrors to give the room a larger more airy feel. The only thing that seems out of place is the blueish gray of the seating area furniture. It seems to clash with the red accent used elsewhere in the room. Also not crazy about that oval table thing in the sitting area (see the photos below).
Anyways, judging from the photos we’ve been able to uncover, it seems as though the Wynn is aiming for a more refined elegance to the Encore decor, as opposed to the neighboring newly opened Palazzo, which followed the Venetian’s lead of a more grandiose luxury tone to its suite decor. Think more of a cigars and cognac crowd than champagne and chocolates.
The Encore will have 2,034 suites including the basic 700-sq-ft suites and the 5,800-sq-ft Tower Suites, when it opens this December. Situated next to the Wynn Las Vegas, the resort will also have a shopping area, The Encore Shopping Esplanade featuring 11 retail outlets, along with seven bars and lounges, five restaurants, an expansive pool area and an spa and salon.
For entertainment, sources have already confirmed a collaboration between nightlife guru Victor Drai and Steve Wynn for a new “ultra-chic” nightclub called XS.
And as we reported several months ago, strip legend Danny Gans will be reuniting with Wynn when he moves his show from The Mirage to a specially designed theater at the new Encore.
Encore is already accepting reservations for early 2009 dates. A sampling of dates seem to indicate room rates will start in the $250-$350 a night range for midweek stays and $500-$600 a night range for weekends for most February bookings.

Below the fold are more photos from the Wynn of the typical resort room, along with a diagram of the layout of the overall basic suite.
So what do you think so far? Is this a room that will lure you to stay at the Encore?
