Facebook reveals the top 20 check-in locations for 2015

Disneyland: The collective Disneylands across California, Florida, Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo were the most checked-in places on Earth.
Universal Studios was the second most checked-in place - again, with four properties in California, Florida, Singapore and Japan.
Times Square, New York City: The third most checked-in location is no surprise.
The Eiffel Tower: Never gets old, the fourth most checked-in place on Facebook.
Niagara Falls, spectacular at any time of year - lit in summer, frozen in winter - is the fifth most checked-in place on Facebook.
Siam Paragon in central Bangkok is a mere one part of their mega-huge shopping metropolis, and sixth most checked-in place on Facebook.
The Grand Canyon is the seventh most checked-in place.
The view of the Yosemite National Park in California - the eighth most checked-in place.
The Louvre, Paris: One of the most popular tourist destinations in France has over 60,000 square meters of exhibition space and is the ninth most checked-in places on Earth.
Central Park, New York: Drawing 42 million visitors each year, it's hardly shocking it's the ten most checked-in place on Facebook.
Beto Carrero World, Brazil: The biggest theme park in Latin America in Penha, Brazil is the 11th most checked-in place on Facebook.
Warner Brothers Studio Tour in London is the 12th most checked-in place on Facebook.
Futuristic Gardens by the Bay in Singapore is the 14th most checked-in destination on Facebook.
The infinity pool on top of Marina Bay Sands, the 14th most checked-in location on Facebook.
Ibirapuera Park, Brazil : With a vivid cultural scene, museum and music hall, this massive urban park is often compared to Central Park in New York. It is the 15th most checked-in location on Facebook.
Hollywood's Walk of Fame is the 16th most checked-in place on Facebook, attracting about 10 million visitors annually.
Madison Square Park in New York City - featuring popular fast-food chain Shake Shack - is the 17th most checked-in place on Facebook.
Santa Monica Pier, Los Angeles: The 18th most checked-in place on Facebook.
Camp Nou, a huge football stadium in Barcelona, Spain, is the 19th most checked-in place on Facebook.
145 countries participated in Expo Milano 2015 to showcase their ideas on healthy sustainable food. It was the 20th most checked-in place on Facebook.

It should come as no surprise to find the most checked-into place for 2015 is also the happiest place on earth - Disneyland.

A whopping 9.9 million people have checked into the site since their Facebook page was created, encompassing all the Disneyland properties - California, Florida, Hong Kong, Japan and France.

Amusement parks were universally popular places to check-in to. Universal Studios and their four sites (California, Florida, Singapore and Japan) were the second most popular place to check-in, and the colossal Beto Carrero world in Brazil, the biggest amusement park in Latin America, the eleventh most checked-in spot.

Iconic destinations such as Times Square in New York, Paris' Eiffel Tower and Arizona's Grand Canyon also featured high on the list of top check-in locations.

Among the surprisingly high numbers of check-ins were at Warner Bros Studio Tour London, popular for its behind-the-scenes look at the Harry Potter film series, and Expo Milano 2015 - a six-month event that drew 147 countries together to discuss healthy, sustainable food.

Asia illustrated their love of shopping by checking into one of their favourite places to part with cash - the Siam Paragon in Bangkok - the sixth most checked-into place for 2015.

Urban parks also featured heavily in the list, with New York's Central Park, Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, Brazil's gargantuan Ibirapuera Park, and Madison Square Park also in New York - featuring an outpost of popular fast food chain Shake Shack - all appearing in the top 20.
